Antenatal Care

The Midwives run a clinic every Tuesday and Wednesday at Mowbray Square. There is also a drop-in clinic Wednesday afternoon at Woodfield School (2.00-3.30 pm).

Otherwise they are based at Harrogate hospital and can be contacted via 01423 885959 and asking for the Midwife.

Harrogate Hospital has recently introduced a new early screening programme for Down’s Syndrome which includes measurement of nuchal fold thickness on ultrasound at around 12 weeks. This means that it is important that you arrange to see your GP as soon as you find out you are pregnant so that you can get information about the screening and make an early appointment to discuss the testing with a midwife, ideally at 6-7 weeks of pregnancy. Midwife appointments are available on the ground floor at Mowbray Square Medical Centre and can be booked through Reception. They also offer drop-in clinics at the Surestart Centres.
